Sex/Gender:Male
Actual Age/Apparent Age: 36

Skills and Powers:
McCoy is the Chief Medical Officer on the Enterprise. He can fulfill the role of many types of medical procedures from general practitioner to any type of surgery. His skills even allow him to call his hands ‘legendary’ for the things that he has accomplished as a well-practiced physician. Where he started off only working on Human physiology, he branched out to cover as many races as possible with xenobiology.

As a Starfleet officer, he is also versed in firing weapons, hand to hand combat, piloting and even survival in extreme situations. Where he prefers to stick with his work in medical, he is quite capable and in very good shape to do more than just be a doctor.

Bookmark Description:
His bookmark is a deep navy blue that looks almost like a leather book cover that is embossed with the silver medical emblem for Starfleet on one side. On the other, there is silver script scrawling out “Do no harm.”

History and Personality:
Leonard McCoy’s History
Personality:
Leonard is a very old fashioned southern boy by all intents and purposes. He speaks with a southern Georgia drawl and likes to look at things from the eyes of someone with good manners of ‘sir’ and ‘ma’am’ rather than keep up with the current futuristic world he lives in. If anyone met him, they would not realize he is a doctor that operates in space during the 23rd century simply because he prefers the simpler things. Like cooking his own food when he can or drinking real alcohol made back home rather than the infinite types of alcohol from all over the universe.

He comes off hard around the edges and is typically described as grumpy. He has no problems muscling a patient into cooperating and will have little to no sympathy as he ‘tells you like it is’. This is not to say he is a mean person. On the contrary, he is an extremely emotional person. He cares too much and works tirelessly to keep everyone safe. Leonard wants nothing more than to fulfill all the sworn duties of a physician and save lives. But if he needs to pick up a weapon in order to protect those he cares about, he will. No questions asked.

McCoy has fears that sometimes hold him back. He hates the idea of taking life, but as noted above, he will do it under the right circumstances. He has aviophobia, but he WILL pilot if it is to protect and serve the crew and human life. Long story short, he will overcome his fears (with much complaining) and get the job done as long as there is the right motivation.

As a friend he is fiercely loyal. He will do anything and everything to keep them safe and in great health (including monitor their diet against their will). He may not intrude upon your privacy, but he will bluntly tell you what you need to hear. And listen like a great drinking buddy when you need him. All in all, for that rough exterior, Leonard McCoy is a good doctor and a great man (if you can get past his notably not so great bedside manner).

This is Dr. McCoy of the U.S.S. Enterprise. I’m tryin’ to figure out what the hell is goin’ on and where I am.

[He’s looking around lost, his brow furrows in concern at the current surroundings before he looks back down at the… once bookmark now PADD like item in his hand. Funny, the damn thing just changes shape with a thought. And all he’s been thinkin’ about is how to contact someone, anyone he knows.]

Look, I dunno how I got here, but I really need to get back to my crew. So if you got some clue on all this mess, please let me know.

[Here’s to hopin’ whoever is listenin’ is friendly.]
